Bruchsal Symphony No. 1

Composition for all music ensembles of a city

For two years I was employed at the Badische Landesbühne Bruchsal - and was responsible for media and communication there. In this capacity, I maintained numerous contacts with the local cultural initiatives and associations - and at the end of my employment, I came up with the idea of bringing together all the friends I had grown fond of during this time in a jointly performed piece of music. This is how the Bruchsal Symphony No. 1 came about, which was performed for the first time at the theatre's end-of-season party in the former slaughterhouse. The symphony was not rehearsed, the premiere and the first rehearsal coincided, which in no way detracted from the pleasure of the occasion.

Andreas Reinhardt recorded the symphony for Süddeutscher Rundfunk Stuttgart - and at the same time produced a feature for which he collected many original sounds and comments from the makers and listeners. Here you can now listen uncut to the entire recording, about 40 minutes all told, and the 25-minute feature version that was broadcast on SDR in 1992.
