séries sonores for those, who suffer from tinnitus

Because of the reactions we received from customers who suffer from tinnitus and bought a selection of CD's from the "séries sonores", we learned that listening to the sound waves helps them fall asleep more easily at night. The ears are filled with natural sounds not mixed with artificial additions which make for easy listening. It can cause the annoying tinnitus whistling to stop or at least lessen it considerably.

However, we emphasize, that because of the many different varieties of the tinnitus affliction, we cannot guarantee that the "séries sonores" actually does achieve the above claim.

Our recordings are usually taken during long time slots, i.e. the microphone is in only one position for the duration of one CD (up to 80 mins.). The only changes that occur are caused by the actual sound of nature slightly changing once in a while: Sometimes two nightingales will sing together, sometimes three, sometimes more water or sometimes less water will flow through a stream and once in a while the strength of the wind will cause small waves to hit a bank, but apart from these microvariations the general sound conditions stay the same. It is precisely this principle that makes many of our recordings so helpful to people suffering from tinnitus.
However, as mentioned before, we cannot guarantee that our recordings will always help.

In many publications we have had critical acclaim for the technical quality of our products.

Obviously not the whole "séries sonores" is suitable for people suffering from tinnitus. That is why we make the following recommendations.

01 Nightingale
Suitable! Imagine opening your window at night and overhearing nocturnal birds sing. You hear one nightingale, soon you hear two and sometimes even three. It is not only beautiful but also has a calming effect.

03 Almrauschen
For this recording we have received positive feedback. We positioned our microphone on a mountain slope at about 2000 meter above sea level. Only once a glider disturbs the idyllic atmosphere. Otherwise: pure nature!

04 Summer
We think they are suitable too. Sometimes the cicadas are quiet sometimes they are noisy, sometimes you only hear one (or just rustling wind instead) and then you hear many dozens. Like a summer afternoon.

06 Ostseerauschen (the murmur of the Baltic Sea)
Almost 80 minutes of the sound of a pebble beach (close to Rostock) as depicted on the cover of the CD. The never changing rhythm of the waves is only disturbed once by a helicopter passing by.

07 Canadien Spring
Recording at a beaver reservoir as seen on the cover of the CD. Some bird sounds from various distances, sounds of frogs and insects and the constant rustling of trees caused by gusts of wind. A quiet meditative recording lasting for about 70 minutes.

09 Easy-care warm wash
is a recording of our washing machine. Admittedly we first recorded it CD as a joke, but it soon turned out that when our sun listened to this it made him fall asleep much more easily. It could also help people who suffer from Tinnitus and don't want to switch on their washing machine every night!

10 Grunewald
Birds singing in the morning. Probably not auxiliary to help you fall asleep because the singing is far too lively. The recording, however, is beautiful.

11 Rudower See
We received positive reactions for this recording too. The small waves in the lake splash against the rowing boat and in the hollows made by roots in the embankment. This recording, with slight variations, depending on the power of the wind, lasts for about 70 minutes.

15 Hörndlinger Graben
The same slope as before (03) but this time we are down in the valley. On a clear day in summer crystal-clear water splashes down in the mountain brook making gurgling and murmuring sounds. This recording also turned out to be very valuable to some patients.

23 Anniversaire
The murmur during a party where most people speak Québécois ( the french dialect that has spread through Canada) laced with a few English words. You can't really understand a word but you hear a constant buzz. This could help you fall asleep, especially when you want to imagine yourself being among people.

24 Ponts de Montréal
This recording is more something for 'soundfreaks' - it is a compilation of the best recordings of the many bridges in Montréal. May be this recording makes you want to listen instead of making you fall sleep.

25 Fürst Pückler Park
As shown on the photograph, this recording is made in a café on the estate of a castle. Besides the murmur of the guests and the singing of sparrrows you hear church bells chiming in a distant village. We think this recording is very suitable!

29 Under the Cherry Tree
Under the cherry tree at the end of an afternoon in summer featuring buzzing wasps, crickets in the meadow, rustling branches as the wind gets stronger and a child building a dam in the distance. The recording should be suitable although we have had no feedback yet.

30 Crickets
We are at the same place as no. 29 but in the evening. Contrary to what the photograph suggests we have recorded cicadas. In Austria cicadas are called “Grillen” - crickets. Voices of children are heard in the distance. Whether crickets or cicada's, we have had positive feedback.

32 The Early Bird
On an early morning we recorded the atmosphere on a mountain meadow in Carinthia and may be a little too early because most of the birds were still asleep. This recording has already been especially helpful to tinnitus patients. May be because no specific sound is heard, just a slight crackling during long periods of time.

33 Wind turbine
Wind turbines are not only ecologically useful, they also produce a regular and very meditative humming noise, which has (we are aware of that) already been considered by some people as being environmentally harmful.

37 Red-Spotted-Toads & Frogs
Fire-bellied toads and frogs. The recording helped the composer Wolfgang von Schweinitz climb out of a depression. It is, despite its repetitive structure, really worth listening to. The sound of the (rarely heard) toads are fascinating.

40 Lausitzer Platz
Children mean life and when there is no place for children then life itself has lost. For that reason we think this recording is really delightful - children playing in the middle of Kreuzberg/Berlin - despite the fact that some people complain because of the noise they make.

41 Train to Pankow
The Underground Spandau/Ruhleben crosses straight through Berlin and has loud squeaky sections and regular rumbling sections. Perhaps the loud sections will wake you again when you had just fallen asleep?

42 Around the center
This recording, made in the orbital train - one trip around Berlin - would probably be a better option to help you fall asleep compared to the noisy rumbling Underground. Germans in their 'S-Bahn' are rather quiet travelling companions. Travelling like that in a southern country would be a much more lively affair.

45 Air Borne
The sound installation of Karl Heinz Essl and Stefan Krüskemper is more suitable for fans of exotic and electronic sounds.

46 Von Fischen und Vögeln
The stroll over the fish market in Hongkong is more something to listen to than to fall asleep by.

47 Klack Klack
A walk from the Brandenburger Tor to the Hackeschen Market while we closely follow a young woman on high heels. All around us we hear the many different sonospheres of the city. Also something to listen to, although the noise in the foreground and the clicking of the high heels always keep the same rhythm

49 Traces in the snow
A recording of a stroll in the snow may be more suitable (it even snows once every three years in Berlin!), the crackling and creaking of the steps on the frozen ground will remind you even more how nicely and warmly you are tucked up in your bed.

54 Pacific waves
The Pacific waves were three to four meters high when they hit the beach. Extremely dangerous and threatening to swim in the sea. On the recording however, you can't hear how threatening it was, you hear heavy rhythmic swishing just like you imagine the sea to be. That is why we recommend it!

55 Waves of the Baltic Sea
The Baltic Sea waves were recorded on a Polish beach during an almost windless day. We started to record very close to the sea then a little further away, then at about 10 meters distance, we then descended from the dunes (50 meters away from the beach). Once in a while voices of people walking along the beach would reach our microphone. We believe that we can also recommend this recording.

56 Laguna Lachuá
This Sounds were recorded in the jungle of Guatemala and feature among others some very high frequency insect sounds. Although this recording provides a beautiful jungle feeling, it is rather more suitable for the older ear because they can't detect the higher frequencies anymore.

57 Frogs Cows Starlings
The frogs living on the Polish side of the Oder are mind blowing, they are not only beautiful because of their pure quantity (Thousands of thousands!). We therefore think this recording might only be suitable for 'listeners'.

58 "Darkblue"
'Darkblue' is a radio play (Hörspiel) and it is the most beautiful thing we have made so far. It is about a somewhat difficult love affair between a woman and a man, or heaven and earth, whichever you hear in it. Although the text makes use of the musical form of a rondo we believe 'Dunkelblau' is only suitable for people suffering from tinnutus who like radio plays and acoustic art.
